🎉 Block Party Magic on Donald Ridge Court

CAG AND FORMER HOA PRESIDENT

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, something quietly radical happened in Eastridge Hills: neighbors gathered—and not for a committee meeting or a landscaping violation. No, this was different. The folks on Donald Ridge Court threw an honest-to-goodness block party. And not just any block party—one with wine, cheese, laughter, and the unmistakable spark of real connection.

Shared Neighborhood Experiences

Picture this: residents trading stories instead of complaints, catching up instead of calling out, and remembering that the “community” part of “Homeowners Association” used to mean something.

One long-time homeowner said it best: “When I moved here 18 years ago, I was invited to a block party. It was welcoming. It was warm. I hadn’t seen anything like that since—until last night.”

That gap? Eighteen years. Sure, the pandemic played its part. But maybe we also let routines and rules replace relationships. That’s not the Eastridge Hills we signed up for, is it?

This one evening changed that. And it didn’t take a miracle. Just a few folding chairs, some cheese boards, and a willingness to wave instead of walk past.

So who’s going to be the next to organize an even larger celibration of the Eastridge Hills community? So here’s a challenge wrapped in a compliment:

Donald Ridge Court reminded us that good fences may make good neighbors, but shared stories make great ones.

Who’s next? What cul-de-sac will host the next mini-revival of community spirit? You don’t need a permit to bring a few people together—you just need a little courage and maybe a corkscrew.
