How Can We Make Eastridge Hills Even Better?
If there’s one thing your Eastridge Hills HOA does well, it’s the little things—the kind that quietly make daily life smoother, friendlier, and more enjoyable.
Over the past year, those “little things” have added up to a lot: Thoughtful improvements to our common areas, careful planning for future street maintenance, support for block parties and street festivals, a limited enforcement pause for guest parking fines during designated holidays, repairs to gate hardware, stronger service contracts, financial oversight where it mattered most—and yes, even replacing the light bulbs in the guardhouse (because someone has to notice when they burn out).
Two ideas we believed residents would truly appreciate rose to the top of the wish list:
A convenient, drive-up post office mailbox near the guardhouse
High-speed fiber internet for our homes
Now for a bit of honest neighborly news.
The mailbox? Let’s just say the local postmaster has gone radio-silent. We’re still hopeful, but for now, that blue box remains a dream. My guess is that it would take many letters to the postmaster to get this one accomplished.
The fiber internet? That one’s moving forward.
We’re happy to report that Comcast has heard the call and plans to install new high-speed fiber in both Eastridge and Eastridge Hills—potentially within the next two to eight weeks. The only thing standing between us and gigabit speeds is final permit approval from the City of Fairfield. Once that green light appears, the trucks roll.
So if you start spotting pickup trucks with CableCom logos parked along our streets, don’t worry—you’re not seeing a new moving trend. You’re seeing progress. Progress toward smoother streaming, faster uploads, and fewer buffering wheels while watching Netflix or YouTube.
To be fair, we can’t take all the credit. Comcast is rolling out fiber nationwide to stay competitive with wireless providers like Verizon. Still, being among the first communities in Solano County to benefit? That’s something worth smiling about.
Small steps. Real improvements. And yes—we’re still keeping an eye out for that blue mailbox.
